WINNERS AT S³: triple j Unearthed TOP SONGS comp

Australia’s youth music network triple j is proud to announce the winners of the triple j Unearthed Top Song competition. Eight lucky songwriters have been chosen to attend APRA's inaugural Song Summit Sydney (S³) music expo in Sydney from April 3 - 5.

Representing each state and territory of Australia, the 8 winners will travel to Sydney to attend the 3 day S³ music conference. They will also take part in an exclusive up close and personal ‘Masterclass’ hosted by Lindsay “The Doctor” McDougall and featuring very special guest James Mercer from The Shins. This exclusive ‘Masterclass’ will also be filmed for an episode of triple j TV. And the winners are....

LISTEN TO THE MUSIC: Songs Selected!

The S³ listening panels will provide a unique opportunity for songwriters to have their music heard and discussed by a panel of music boffins. Our panelists include a range of songwriters, publishers, managers, broadcasters, producers and A & R professionals.

Twelve songs and their writers have been selected for the four Listen to the Music panels. Click here to view a full list of panelists and songs/songwriters to be reviewed.

PLAY THE MUSIC: Showcase performers announced!

As an extension of the Listen to the Music panels, our delegates were also given the opportunity to submit for a showcase performance slot at S³. Over 200 submissions were received for the Listen to the Music panels, and the job to select only three Play the Music performers was excruciatingly difficult due to the extremely high standard of songs submitted.

We would like to congratulate all that submitted for the Listen to the Music | Play the Music with special congratulations to Jessica Paige, Microwave Jenny and Happenstance for being chosen to perform the Play the Music showcase on Thursday evening.

GIBSON MASTERCLASS

ARIA Award winning, singer/songwriter, Clare Bowditch and Thirsty Merc frontman and songwriter, Rai Thistlethwayte, will be hosting a Gibson Guitar Masterclass at S³. Join Clare and Rai at the S³ Exhibit at the Royal Hall of Industries, on Saturday, 5 April, for an intimate session that will feature a performance from these outstanding songwriters and performers.
