AMCOS-controlled Production Music (PM) is music specifically written and recorded for inclusion in all forms of audio and audiovisual productions including adverts, films, DVDs, TV & radio programmes, websites, online games, music-on-hold and ringtones etc. It is available for convenient synchronisation or dubbing, and can provide an administratively simple and cost effective answer to your music needs.

Using commercial (aka “published”) music in productions usually involves seeking clearances in two separate copyrights (the musical works and the sound recording). A licence for AMCOS-controlled PM covers both the music (musical work) and the recording (sound recording) with the one rate. See PM Rate Cards.

Licence Procedures to use PM

All uses of AMCOS-controlled PM can be licensed through the PM Dept. In essence, once you have registered as a PM Client, completed the PM Registration Form and received a PMCN (PM Client Number to quote to the PM Suppliers you contact) - then just complete and submit a PM Licence Application each and every time you use PM. For even simpler handling, all registered PM clients can submit licences online through the PM Online Licensing Facility. For more details, go directly to Obtaining a Licence.

Sourcing PM – PM Supplier List

PM is not available through normal retail outlets but rather only directly from PM Suppliers. Please refer to the PM Supplier List for contact details and a list of their catalogues for all suppliers. This document is regularly updated and provides a comprehensive list of all current PM Suppliers.

For 2006 World and other territories to those listed above, rates are available from the PM Dept.
