APRA Board Meeting, 8 February
- Half Yearly Financials: Reasonably positive picture at this point in the year. The forecast costs for the full year were almost exactly on budget.
- Code of Conduct: Formal report from the Code Reviewer tabled. Of note is the Code Reviewer’s recognition of improved practices and procedures.
- Free TV: agreement had now been reached with Free TV Australia on new terms.
- New GL Background Music Licence Schemes:
- Hospitality: 16,000 hospitality clients have been relicensed.
- Retail: Copyright Tribunal approved scheme will involve the relicensing of 33,000 clients.
- User Generated Content Websites: APRA|AMCOS has been in discussions with MySpace since July 2006 regarding the licensing of musical works available for sharing, streaming and downloading from its service.
- New Zealand:
- APRA NZ will introduce a “NZ Music Hall of Fame” component to the Silver Scroll Awards, with two (2) inductees each year.
- Children’s Music Awards event to be held in Wellington in the second half of the year.
- TE MATATINI – MAORI MUSIC AWARDS: cross cultural exchange of Indigenous performers at Te Matatini 2007 in late February.
- Membership & Distribution: Minimum Threshold: $5 per work threshold to digital download sales for all unmatched works requiring manual identification and to remove the current $15 per album threshold.
- Awards Committee: 2007 APRA Music Awards: To be held in Melbourne at the Melbourne Town Hall on Tuesday 5 June.
- Member Expo: Scheduled for April 2008

- Half Yearly Financials: Traveling strongly overall. The forecast costs for the full year were almost exactly on budget.
