AMPAL UPDATE: Songfind

As part of its ongoing service to members, AMPAL has developed a new web-based initiative called Songfind.

The service will assist film, TV and advertising music users locate songs for their projects and is part of the revamped AMPAL website. Potential music users simply visit the AMPAL website and log on to Songfind. After receiving a password they then fill out a Songfind enquiry form and hit the ‘submit’ button. The system then sends an automated message containing details of the song they’re seeking along with their contact details to the creative managers of AMPAL’s publisher members. If a publisher thinks they have a suitable song they make contact the client direct and take it from there.

“The service is aimed particularly at people new to the process of clearing music for synchronisation use” said AMPAL General Manager Mark Callaghan. “We know that many of our publisher members already have extensive contacts with clients in TV, film and advertising and we see Songfind as an opportunity to create new business for them whist at the same time making it simpler for new clients to find the right song - and publisher”.

AMPAL will be undertaking a promotional campaign over the next few months to create awareness of the new service.
