WELCOME

Welcome to the new online version of Antenna, APRA's special newsletter for publishers members.

In recent surveys and interviews, APR publisher members told us they would prefer to receive Antenna as an email bulletin. They also wanted more frequent communication from APRA on topics such as board decisions, market trends and new technology.

And here it is. Antenna will be emailed to your email mail box regularly. A complete copy of each edition will also be stored on the APRA website in the Publisher Members section. If you don't receive Antenna and you would like to, simply email Kaye Hawley, APRA's publisher services manager.

Every issue will feature regular columns such as:

  • Recent board decisions
  • What's coming up
  • Welcome to new members
  • CMS/CF update

In addition, there'll be feature articles on topics nominated by publisher members. This issue, for example, Richard Mallett, APRA's director of media licensing, gives us an in-depth report on the growing market for mobile phone ringtones - a lucrative income source for APRA members.

There's also an IT development update from Gus Jansen, chief information officer, APRA; and a wrap up of the findings of our recent publisher interviews.

Your comments and feedback are welcome. I hope you continue to find Antenna a valuable source of information about APRA and the music industry.

Kirti Jacobs.
