MARK EADES' UPDATE
by Mark Eades
Manager Publisher Services, APRA|AMCOS
Welcome back to Gillian Dunn (Senior Officer Publisher Services) who returned from maternity leave in early July. Gillian’s return brings staff levels in Publisher Services back to normal again; her ongoing responsibilities within the section will be re-defined in the coming months. Miriam Nies will continue to look after the Publisher Help Desk responsibilities which were part of Gillian’s role before her maternity leave.
Farewell to Russell Tainton (Mechanical Catalogue Administrator) who left APRA|AMCOS on 20 July to travel and pursue musical projects. I would like to thank Russell for the hard work he has done since joining Publisher Services in February, particularly for his assistance in educating myself and the Publisher Services team about mechanical right catalogue administration and the AREV database. We wish Russell all the best for the future.
Russell will be replaced by Caroline McKnight effective from 1 August; welcome to Caroline, who comes to Publisher Services with four years of experience at APRA|AMCOS, having worked for Writer Services in both the Brisbane and Sydney offices.
The Publisher Services team is currently re-training and planning towards integrating both performing and mechanical right catalogue administration functions into the Publisher Representative role in the near future (as intended since the departmental re-structure in February). The group of represented publishers for each Publisher Representative will change as a consequence of this integration process. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. |
