MARK EADES' UPDATEby Mark Eades We are pleased to introduce Calvin Wong, who joined the Sydney Publisher Services team in late March. Calvin has been undertaking training as a Publisher Representative. Members will begin receiving queries from Calvin soon, and he will shortly be assigned specific publisher members’ catalogues to represent – we will notify these publishers individually in the coming months. Calvin is a composer, musician and music producer who has worked as a promoter, professional DJ, production coordinator and in a variety of administration and customer service roles. He has recently completed a Masters degree in Media Arts and Production at University of Technology Sydney. Publisher Services’ Research and Copyright Administrator Daniel Threadgold and his wife Lauren welcomed their second son Jesse Henry into the world on May 9. Congratulations and best wishes to Daniel and Lauren from Member Services and all at APRA|AMCOS. |

Publisher Seminars: Licensing UpdateWe will be holding seminars in June to discuss recent developments in, and future challenges faced by, the online, broadcast and live performance licensing areas of APRA|AMCOS. Speakers at these seminars will be Frank Rodi (Online & Mobile Licensing Manager), Richard Davison (Director of Broadcast Services) and Jenny Gome (Director of Licensing Services). Seminars will be held at our Sydney office at 10am on Thursday 19 June and at our Melbourne office at 10am on Monday 30 June. Important Notice for Counterpoint Music Maestro UsersIt has come to our attention that some publisher members who use Counterpoint Music Maestro software for royalty accounting purposes are experiencing problems processing electronic distribution statements for APRA distribution 45A; the title and writer fields are apparently being imported as one field when the APRA EDI files are uploaded. This problem stems from changes to the APRA EDI file specification (as notified in publisher seminars at the end of 2007 and in the March 2008 issue of Antenna). Please contact Mark Eades (meades@apra.com.au) if you have been affected by this problem, so we can keep you informed as to how and when it will be fixed. |
