APRA|AMCOS Board Summaries: September 2007

APRA Board Meeting, 13 September:

  • Brett attended the memorial service for Bob Hughes, former APRA Chair, in Adelaide. Resolved to commission a major new work to commemorate the memory of Bob Hughes.
  • Resolved to adopt the annual accounts (Directors' Report & Financial Statement for 2006-07)
  • AGM: It was confirmed that the AGMs for AMPAL, AMCOS & APRA would be held Friday 16 November, as follows:
    AMPAL - 9am, AMCOS - 9.30am, APRA - 10am. Nominations for APRA and AMCOS Board positions close Friday 14 September. Postal and e-voting will be available from Monday 15 October. Postal and e-voting will close Friday 9 November.
  • Negotiations continue with MySpace and YouTube and other User Generated Content (UGC) sites.
  • Retail & Hospitality Licence NZ Schemes roll-out: Going well with an eventual forecast of an additional $850k in revenue per year once fully implemented in year 3.
  • Licence Schemes NZ Commercial Radio/Sky TV NZ: A new Commercial Radio scheme is proposed and will be the subject of forthcoming negotiations. Similarly negotiations will commence in late September in relation to a new scheme for Pay TV (Sky TV).
  • Song Summit Sydney 2008: 600 members have registered their interest. There are 36 sessions scheduled, including 16 masterclasses. Morning sessions will be for all delegates and afternoon sessions for smaller groups. Registrations open October 2007. ASCAP has confirmed the attendance of Jimmy Webb and Paul Williams.
  • Resolved to approve the redevelopment of the APRA|AMCOS website
  • All applications for and changes in status to membership approved.
  • Creative Commons: A paper to be prepared for the next Board meeting detailing the issues and options for our members.

AMCOS Board Meeting, 14 September:

  • Resolved to adopt the annual accounts (Directors' Report & Financial Statement for 2006-07)
  • Board Conference will be held 21-22 November 2007
  • All applications for and changes in status to membership approved.
