APRA Office Opening!
APRA has opened a new office in Darwin, located at Brownsmart Community Arts 12 Smith Street Darwin NT 0801. The new office is home to APRA's National Indigenous & NT Writer Services Representative, Rob Collins. The office signals APRA's continued support of songwriters and composers of the Northern Territory, and Indigenous members in the region and around Australia. An offical opening of the office will take place on Tuesday, May 27 2008 at Brownsmart Community Arts, and all local songwriters, composers, industry organisations and interested persons are welcome to attend. Barunga Festival
Barunga Festival is one of Australia's major and longest-running Indigenous community festivals. It is celebrated in Barunga each year over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, June 6-9 2008. Music is the highlight of the festival, with contemporary and traditional musicians and dancers from all over the Northern Territory performing. In conjunction with Music NT, APRA will be hosting an information BBQ at the festival. All those in the area are encouraged to attend, for more details go to www.barungafestival.com.au.
