2007 Classical and Screen Music Awards

The Classical Music Awards presented by APRA and the Australian Music Centre will be held on Wednesday 12 September at the Sydney Theatre, Walsh Bay, Sydney. The APRA - AGSC Screen Music Awards will be held on Tuesday 27 November at the City Recital Hall, Angel Place, Sydney. All queries relating to APRA's Awards should be directed to awards@apra.com.au

Song Summit Sydney: 3-5 April 2008

APRA is proud to present the inaugural Song Summit Sydney - S3. A major music expo for songwriters and composers. S3 will deliver three dynamic days of learning, networking, workshops and performances, bringing together creators, managers, publishers, technicians, marketers, lawyers and deal makers. Expressions of interest for involvement within the retail exhibition and all general queries should be directed to S3@apra.com.au.

Songwriter Speaks @ Whichway Workshops: 19-22 June

MusicNSW, Whichway and APRA are running a four-day music industry and songwriting sessions from June 19-22 at the Redfern Community Centre.

Top contemporary Indigenous music artists - Joel and Naomi Wenitong (Last Kinection, Shakaya) and Lucas Proudfoot will present the APRA songwriting workshops, covering topics such as: arrangement; lyric writing; choosing the right producer and studio; and personal experiences about the music industry. Connect @ Geelong: 26 June

Sibylla and Con from the Melbourne office will be coming to Geelong on Tuesday 26th June to hold a local APRA members meeting. The meeting will discuss APRA and copyright , how to register your songs online, how to join, and other items of interest to songwriters. It's also a great chance to meet other local songwriters. Melbourne Music Prize: entries close July 20

The Melbourne Prize for Music 2007 recognises and rewards excellence and talent in music, inspire creative development and enrich public life. With a prize pool of over $100,000, the Prize is open to Victorian residents. Finalists in the Melbourne Prize for Music 2007 will form part of a public event to be held in November 2007 at Federation Square.
