Welcome back to Antenna for another year!

2007 has brought a variety of changes to Publisher Services and to the way publisher business is now handled within APRA|AMCOS, both in terms of staff changes and a departmental restructure that has been effective since 1 February. These changes are detailed extensively in the articles below.

APRA|AMCOS Restructure

Effective from 1 February, APRA|AMCOS departments were restructured in an effort to bring together sections performing similar work processes which had previously been spread across different departments, or sections whose functions were more suitably placed in a different department. Publisher seminar: presentations now available

On February 23, over 60 attendees from APRA|AMCOS' publisher members attended a seminar at APRA|AMCOS head office in Sydney. Our legal counsel, Kate Haddock, discussed the Copyright Amendment Act 2006 and I gave an overview of the APRA|AMCOS departmental restructure, and how APRA|AMCOS allocates royalties from new media sources ... read more

Performing Rights News: Distribution 44A

As APRA distribution 44A (payment for earnings from July to December 2006) is approaching, publishers are reminded of registration cut-off dates for APRA distribution processing purposes:

- Agreement Registrations (on-line and Agreement Registration Forms):16 March 2007

- Work Registrations (on-line, bulk and index card):23 March 2007

Registrations received after these dates will not take effect for performing right divisions-of-fee until after the distribution is complete.
