APRA|AMCOS and the NSW Government have jointly launched the 2008 Song Summit Sydney (S3) - a special conference, exhibition and showcase event designed to meet the creative, business development and networking needs of original music creators.

 

This industry-wide event, taking place 3-5 April 2008 will gather together the full spectrum of the music industry – creators, managers, publishers, technicians, marketers, lawyers and deal makers – for three dynamic days of learning, networking, workshops and, of course, performances. Read more>>

Get paid for your live performances: You have until 31 August to submit your on-line LPRs (Live Performance Returns) for the period 1 July 2006 – 30 June 2007. All your domestic live performances and new works can be lodged electronically via your APRA membership account area. Log in now!

2007 Call for APRA & AMCOS Board Nominations: The APRA AGM and the AMCOS AGM will be held on 16 November 2007. Accordingly, nominations for the APRA Director positions and AMCOS Director positions must be received by the Company Secretary at the APRA|AMCOS head office in Sydney, by no later than close of business Friday 14 September. Darwin Music Festival: 23-25 August
APRA, in conjunction with MusicNT and Music Bound, is presenting a number of initiatives at this year’s Darwin Festival. Festival attendees have the opportunity to hear from some of our most highly regarded songwriters discussing their craft - songwriters include Lindy Morrison, Dean Turner, Don Walker and Shellie Morris; attend a “Grow your Own” music industry forum with a panel of industry experts; and attend an APRA information session. With the support of APRA, the Queenscliff Music Festival and the Melbourne Writers Festival have partnered to present six "Writing Song" panel sessions, each with different guest artists, with a view to casting focus on the writing aspect of contemporary music. WAM Song of the Year 2007

Western Australian songwriters who want to take their career to the next level are urged to enter the WAM Song of the Year 2007, with over $30,000 in prizes to be won.
